Ooooh! This is a fun question, but SO hard to narrow it down to one for each category. What entertainment I’m drawn to typically depends on my mood. However, these gems have stayed consistent throughout most of my life:
April has been so busy, but in a good way. I’m starting to fall back into a routine after an intense few weeks of filming in March. It was a month full of new opportunities, spending time catching up with friends, and making new connections. There were no trips this month, but May kicks off the “trip a month” season for my boyfriend and I. Stay tuned for more!
Babysat J’s nephews
Still job hunting and had many phone interviews – none of which have panned out…
I began struggling more with my eating disorder (the awful “binge and purge cycle”)
Attended our friend’s brewery’s 2nd anniversary party
Began weight training with J’s brother
Filming ended (hallelujah)
Began coaching youth tennis
April (hail) showers
Started a running regimen
Some of J’s friends were in town for the weekend and we went to “The Revivalists” concert, brunch, and the park
Saw a local production of “Singin’ in the Rain” (my favorite musical)
I know, I know… It’s halfway through April and I’m just now posting my “March review.” March has been a whirlwind, but in a different way. I started to train to run a 5K which was a good distraction/something to focus on while still being unemployed.
I took a job as a stand in for a new TV pilot which consumed a LOT of my time. I had worked as one three years ago, but this production was different. There were more 12-14 hour days, night shoots, and getting home at 3 am. Let’s just say that I am still physically and mentally recovering from when we wrapped last week. It’s been a struggle adjusting to a new routine…
Anyways, without further delay, here are the highlights from my March 2017:
Ash Wednesday – the beginning of Lent
One month dating anniversary – yes, we are cheesy and love it
Wow! To say that a lot has happened in a month is an understatement. It began with me transitioning into unemployed life, volunteering and becoming more active in a church community, meeting new friends and beginning to date the most kind and godly man, then back to back vacations. Whew… Read on!
Made new friends after volunteering with a young adult group from church
Became obsessed with RX Bars
Started dating the most amazing man
Went to London with my cousin, Hannah. In-depth post to follow!
Flew to California with said amazing man. He had to come out for work for a few days and I had been dying to re-visit California. We spent most of our time in Irvine while he was working and Newport Beach where and I enjoyed meeting a lot of his friends. It was nice to have time to ourselves after not seeing each other for 9 days while I was across the pond!
The 2nd 636 Dallas event
Parks & Recreation, Seasons 2 – 3 This is Us, Season 1 Grey’s Anatomy, Season 13 The Crown, Season 1 (again) Love Actually
So 2016. I thought that 2015 tested me both mentally and physically, but 2016 didn’t give me much of a break. I’m not really sure how I feel about it. Don’t get me wrong, it wasn’t a terrible year. There were plenty of great things that happened and I continued to grow and challenge myself – even when I felt like I had done all the “growing” I could (or wanted to).
I’ve compiled my “monthly reviews” (click on the month to check out the post) from the past year and included some of my favorite things. Checking out my old posts was quite an exercise as sadly I forgot a good chunk of things that happened…
Enjoy and here’s to an even better year!
